It’s (almost) official: The great Isiah Thomas has accepted Florida International University’s offer to coach its men’s basketball team, according to sources.  As you may know, Thomas was once an NBA superstar, playing point guard for the Detroit Pistons during most of the 80s and early 90s.  But before we get into the details about what his hiring could mean for the school’s national profile, the quality of the team and so on, let’s get a few things in order.
