‘The Holstee Manifesto’

‘The Holstee Manifesto’

“This is your life. Do what you love and do it often. If you don’t like something, change it. If you don’t like your job, quit. If you don’t have enough time, stop watching TV. If you are looking for the love of your life, stop; they will be waiting for you when you start doing things you love. Stop over-analyzing; life is simple. All emotions are beautiful. When you eat, appreciate every last bite. Travel often; getting lost will help you find yourself. Some opportunities only come once; seize them. Open your mind, arms and heart to new things and people. We are united in our differences. Ask the next person you see what their passion is, and share your inspiring dream with them. Life is about the people you meet, and the things you create with them, so go out and start creating. Life is short. Live your dream, and share your passion.”

This wallet card manifesto was given to me as a gift today. I don’t know where you are in ‘life,’ but many of the above-mentioned nuggets of wisdom are resonating more and more with me these days. As I pursue my real passions – not the ones I thought might be lucrative because of what I learned in school – I’m finally coming into my own.

I’m 27 and broke, but I can’t recall many times when I was happier; with who I am and what I’m doing.

Tomorrow isn’t soon enough. Do it now.

  1. For many years of my life i have felt lifeless because i have lived life but have never felt it. Life is like an open ocean with hidden treasures that you can never see unless you jump into the abyss. The feeling of surrendering to the actual pleasure of living might seem to most people as a guilty desire. I want to break free from the chains of despair and set sail into the abyss of today because tomorrow a new beginning awaits…
